Phonics

Parents who read with their child at home give them a gift they will take through life with them. Please take time to read our "Reading together" leaflet.

The Oxford Reading Tree scheme is the key scheme used in the teaching of reading throughout the school, this is supplemented by other phonically based schemes to give children breadth to their reading experience. We use the "Letters and Sounds" programme throughout the school as a framework to teaching phonics. The DfE have produced a guide for parents which can be found here; Phonics: information for parents
